This is our preferred route also this is route encompasses the greatest amount of peat soil which are shown to be carbon sources/environmentally damaging.
Less favourable to option Red but still encompasses large amounts of peat land in prosperous area, low farming activity, doesn't impinge on much rural livelihoods.
Greatest concern, cuts through our farm making it largely unworkable. Historical features will be disrupted, as well as rare wildlife. Drainage issues, remove permanent pasture + forestry - best carbon sinks available.
Causes least disruption to peoples' livelihoods, moderate disruption during works but easiest access to power cables thereafter without having to enter peoples' properties.
Comments about the approach taken on this project:
Makes most sense to have cables close to roads for future easy access. Putting through land not only reduces agricultural activity but also future development potential.
