Following on from our joint EirGrid and SONI consultation on the new National Resource Adequacy Assessment methodology first shared in December 2023; we are now pleased to move forward to the next phase in the collection of inputs and assumptions for each jurisdiction. EirGrid and SONI are working together to enhance the approach for assessing long term resource adequacy in the context of a power system transforming to net-zero.
As of today, EirGrid are pleased to publish a consultation on the National Resource Adequacy Assessment Inputs and Assumptions for Ireland. The inputs and assumptions document and an accompanying data workbook can be found on this page.
This consultation highlights the inputs and assumptions proposed for use within the enhanced methodology for resource adequacy. Whilst many of the inputs and assumptions shared here are consistent with those that have been used in previous Generation Capacity Statements, the increased transparency is aiming to enable any external parties to provide their insights to support the forecasting.
A webinar on these inputs and assumptions will be held whilst the consultation is open. Further details will be shared in due course.
EirGrid welcomes your feedback on the questions posed within the paper. Your responses should be submitted through the EirGrid Consultation Portal no later than 16:00 on 24th April 2024.
