The consultation
EirGrid ran a public consultation on the Fingal to East Meath Grid Reinforcement Project from the 8th of October to the 8th of November 2024. This Consultation was part of Step 3 in the delivery of this infrastructure project, in line with EirGrid's six-step grid delivery process.
Those interested in providing feedback to EirGrid on our plans were given the option to provide submissions via the EirGrid Consultation portal, via submission boxes at several public information events held during the consultation period, and also via email, post and telephone to our Community Liaison Officer.
The consultation period closed on 8th November 2024 and below are the outcomes.
Your views and suggestions
Six formal consultation responses were received during the month-long consultation period. These included responses from five local residents and one county council. Informal feedback was also received during events and through contact with the Public Engagement Team. Common themes which arose included concerns about land and road reinstatement, electromagnetic fields, the community impact of major development projects in the area, as well as the protection of flora and fauna.
